Valley glaciers
Some glaciers exist all by themselves. So they are not running out of any ice sheets or ice caps. They are found in small valleys in the mountains and are therefore called valley glaciers.

Storglaciären is a valley glacier. Storglaciären means ‘the big glacier’ in Swedish, but it is in fact a very small glacier compared to the ice sheets and ice caps we have looked at. It is only 3 km².
